BBQ pork, egg foo young and fried noodles ALL DAY. Don't forget the salt n pepper fried chicken wings. I can devour a whole order on my own--no joke!
Best Chinese food take out that's consistent and delicious. Family owned for over 34 years! -

After 25 years, I still absolutely love Chung Hing.
It's the #1 hole-in-the-wall Chinese with food unlike anywhere else. My friend and I drive over 3-4 hours just to come here. If you haven't been here, you are missing out. If you've been here and weren't happy, try again.
The prices are beyond reasonable as they pack as much food as possible into every container. Just under $8 for a combo (I remember when it was $3.25!).
Many reviews talk about the BBQ Pork. Yes, it's amazing: very little fat, the right amount of char, and not dry or flavorless.
But, I can't get enough of the egg foo young and lo mein. No one else makes it like they do! Yes, the lady at the counter will never smile at you or be happy to see you. But her husband is a miracle worker in the kitchen. The egg foo young ALWAYS tastes fresh. Unlike other places, Chung Hing puts vegetables and pork INSIDE the egg foo young. The lo mein is always hot and fresh with vegetables and pork. And, it's the right lo mein noodles (thin noodles- not thick and watery like most horrible Chinese take-out).
When you take a bite of that egg foo young, you feel the thickness of egg and onion topped with a creamy brown sauce. At first, it's hot and you already want your next bite. Then, you taste the bbq pork that is inside. It will be gone before you know it!
Combo #5 for the win! Egg Foo Young with Fried Rice (AMAZING) and Lo Mein.
The won tons may not be over flowing with meat - but have to get them every time.
CASH ONLY! Bring cash or bring tears! And, no bathroom.
Not everything is going to be perfect here. But, the food keeps me coming back over and over and over again! -

If i review this place the same way i do other places....it will probably get one or two stars. So why am i giving this place 4 stars? Two reasons. 1. The bbq pork and 2. combo #1 which comes with bbq pork.
I would not be recommending this place to any of my normal friends. Only those who share thr same love for bbq pork. Some may complain that the bbq pork ia too dry or that it is too blend but I grew up eating bbq like this and so I am going to disagree with all complainers.
So dont expect good service, or super clean environment, or even quick turnaround if you order some obscured item from the menu. Just walk in ask for combo 1 and enjoy good bbq pork for the meal... -

I love this place. They serve the best char siu (chinese bbq pork), fried rice, chow mein and lo mein in San Diego. The food is always fresh and super yummy. My favorites are their combo menus and everything is fairly priced. They always greet me with a smile and I leave with their "thank you". No complaints in customer service. Overall, my favorite chinese restaurant in San Diego.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. I went with their #1 special, which included 2 chicken wings, 2 wontons, char siu, and fried rice. The chicken wings weren't on the same level as Royal Mandarin in National City, but they were crispy and tasty. The char siu was tender and tasty as well. At $7.95+ tax it's definitely one of the better deals on Miramar Road.
I would definitely recommend "take out" because they weren't running their air conditioning when it was 85 degrees plus outside.
